I own a 10.5″-barreled 300blk AR pistol with a flashcan that I’ve decided to make my home defense primary weapon. I have a Midwest Industries 12″ suppressor-compatible handguard that has a 1.75″ inner diameter. Which direct-thread, 300blk-specific suppressor would you recommend for this application? I know some people, notably John from Warrior Poet Society, do not recommend having a suppressor on your defensive weapon, but due to the design of our home, I’m concerned about my 5 year-old son’s hearing if I need to discharge my weapon inside (my hearing is already fucked from years of loud exhausts and heavy metal). Thanks, you guys all rock. You’re my favorite podcast out of the 17 I subscribe to.

I have a 6″ Ruger GP100 in .357 with a full length WEIG-A-TINNY rail on top. Open sights are typically fine, but I’m finding them harder and harder to see clearly. Was looking at the Justice red dot as it’s a little wider than the Liberty. As I understand it I would also need the RMR to Pic mount adaptor from Swampfox. Everyone on the show really speaks highly of Swampfox products but if this isn’t my best option, what suggestions do you have? Oh… and to satisfy Jeremy’s need for what I will use this for; plinking and occasional deer hunting in PA.

Hey FFL guys, I have a technical question for you. I recently learned that NYS has a law where you cannot hunt with a pistol that has a barrel longer than 8″. NYS also says you cannot have threaded barrels so you have to pin and weld the brake on. If I have a 7.5″ barrel and a 2.5″ brake. Does that make the barrel 10″? Or can I reasonably argue that it is a 7.5″ barrel with a fixed muzzle device? How does the industry treat this? Is there any case precedent? #WLSISLIFE

$500 in your pocket for a new pistol, which one is everyone buying? (In the current market)

Aliens are attacking Earth. What weapon do you choose? Do you choose the MA5 from Halo, the M41A from “Alien” or do you choose your own gun that you own? Ammo is not an issue. We all know Savage would pick a Dildo Launcher. #wlsislife #defundguncontrol

Rich A

Dear WLS,

I have a Swampfox Kingslayer as a slide ride optic on one of my USPSA competition pistols. I love how crisp the dot is and it is holding zero like a boss, but the maximum brightness is too low.

In moderate sun, the dot washes out on white steel targets and in really bright sun, the dot washes out on cardboard targets.

I’ve tried several new batteries to ensure that it is not a battery issue and made sure the brightness is all the way up.

I really like Swampfox, so I’m wondering if any of their other slide ride red dots have a larger and/or brighter dot that would make it better suited for outdoor competition. A vertically larger window would be advantageous, too.

Thanks!

-Rich
