Coming up on my yearly carry ammo dump and change for my shield chambered in 9mm and I’m thinking about switching it up. Should I stick to 115 gr critical defense or do I need to go to a different or heavier load? Or even maybe an all copper bullet? I was just (bi)curios on what your thoughts were? I feel like I’ve watched so many gel and barrier test on different ammo that it just becomes confusing to a point. It would be great to hear your trusted opinions. Thanks.

I know his holiness Ryan Cleckner said that the Tikka T3 Tac A1 is just about the best for long range shooting. I was considering this rifle because of his knowledge. However, I’ve been looking at the Bergara B14 HMR Pro as an alternative. The Bergara as the Pro series action, Triggertech trigger, and a stainless steel barrel over the standard B14 HMR. The Bergara also takes AICS mags compared to the proprietary Sako mags in the Tikka. Would love your input.

Thanks!

P.S. Complacency over registration will be your downfall, Aaron if you don’t lose your feet beforehand.

Hey guys, this question is for everyone – but please don’t let Jeremy read it, the last question he read made me sound like drunk Shawn at Shot Show. Also, don’t let Savage read it, because then I’ll sound like a commie and no one likes commies. Sorry, no sorry Savage. If Aaron could read it that would really make my day, since he makes even the dumbest questions sound intelligent with his enthusiasm.

Ok, I guess on with my question – I wanted to get some feedback on what type of defensive ammo you train with and trust for carrying? I carry a Sig P365 in 9mm and recently listened to an episode that covered training with your concealed carry pistol, stressing the importance of training with carry ammo to get the feel for recoil and ensure it cycles well without failures or issues. Is there a particular brand that you have grown to favor and trust when carrying? Shawn don’t answer with the typical, cop-out answer “the ammo that best suits you”, or I’ll have to get Gertrude involved.

Thanks,

Joe

Gentlemen,

What is a good general purpose gun cleaner that I can fill my parts washer with? Looking to not break the bank. Also, I’m not interested in using harsh cleaners such as “proper” solvents, such as you might find in a mechanics shop. I’m looking to use “Ed’s Red”. Do any of you have experience with this formula?

Slide lock or slide release. And why.
