Everyone needs at minimum a 48 hour go bag, ready to go for hikes, camping, emergencies, Jade Helm, whatever. The biggest problem with most survival kits is extremely high cost and usability by the average person. I can tell you for sure that my wife probably would eat a fish raw out of the river after struggling for 6 hours to use magnesium and flint to start a fire. It’s not realistic for most people and day hikers. Additionally, it provides a conceal carry pocket with velcro for a holster, ensuring that you make it out alive.
