I’ve got a Star Model B Super (1911 variant?), and I think the firing pin broke on my last range outing. Went through one mag no issue, and 2 rounds into the next mag then nothing. I manually cycled the gun for the remaining rounds. Once cycled/ejected there was no evidence of a primer strike at all on the other rounds. This happened while using 147 Grn blazer brass cased ammo, was using 124 Grn blazer brass beforehand. Examined/field stripped when i got home and no visible evidence of a failure. Though second hand, I’ve never had an issue with this firearm as long as I’ve owned it. Is a full disassembly needed and a deep clean next step or do i genuinely have a broken firing pin? If the latter I do have a replacement firing pin but is this something i should tackle myself or leave to a qualified gunsmith?

What do yall think about 22 WMR for concealed carry? In a 2-3 inch barrel. Looking at getting a Ruger LCRx snubby maybe even the 3.5 inch model. I always see 22 WMR on the shelves. Id just feel more comfortable carrying something im actually able to shoot once a month. I shoot my 9mm maybe once every two months now due to ammo shortages. I see WMR decently often still in stores.

Hey fam,
What are your thoughts on tracers to help with round counting when shooting? I have a gangsta cetme with Franklin binary trigger I typically carry as a truck gun. Since it has no bolt hold open, I was thinking of using 2-3 tracers at the end of the magazine so I know a mag swap is coming up. Good idea or does it give my shooting position away?
