Five Stars from Cody A:

Over the last 7 years, you guys have been providing me with laughs, tears, anger, joy, and knowledge. Thanks for your continued dedication to the betterment of the show, and thanks for keeping me sane while I’m commuting to work, at the gym, or need to get a break from this crazy thing we call life. I love you guys, and go fuck yourselves. ❤️❤️❤️

Five Stars from Piss Jugman:

This podcast channel is dope. They’re definitely the most entertaining. Sure helps my long commute every day. Your’s truly, Piss Jugman.

Five Stars from Stephen M:

First off fantastic podcast. By far the best gun podcast out there. The mix of too much testosterone from Jeremy and to much estrogen from Mr machine gun mosses just sets the stage for a great show. Shawn nails it as the host even with some long ass hunting stories… but let’s face it if we can listen to Aaron bitch about a shop fee for 30 mins we damn sure can listen to hunting story. Nick is a breath of fresh air with his calmness and knowledge and savage is just savage. Keep up the great work guys love everything you do! P.s. Daniel defense sucks ass! Glad Shawn tells it like it is!

5.7x28mm

  • Muzzle Velocity: Typically around 2,350-2,800 feet per second (fps).
  • Energy: Approximately 240-400 foot-pounds (ft-lb) depending on the specific load.
  • Ballistic Coefficient: Varies by bullet type but generally between 0.15 and 0.23.
  • Trajectory: Relatively flat trajectory out to 200 yards, with less drop compared to .22 LR and .17 HMR.

.22 Long Rifle (.22 LR)

  • Muzzle Velocity: Usually between 1,000-1,300 fps.
  • Energy: Approximately 100-150 ft-lb.
  • Ballistic Coefficient: Generally around 0.12-0.15.
  • Trajectory: More pronounced drop at longer distances. At 100 yards, a typical .22 LR bullet can drop around 6-8 inches.

.17 HMR

  • Muzzle Velocity: Typically around 2,550-2,650 fps.
  • Energy: Around 250 ft-lb.
  • Ballistic Coefficient: Generally around 0.125-0.185.
  • Trajectory: Flatter than .22 LR, with about a 2-inch drop at 100 yards and around 10 inches at 200 yards.

Comparison Summary

  • Velocity: The 5.7x28mm and .17 HMR have significantly higher muzzle velocities compared to the .22 LR.
  • Energy: The 5.7x28mm maintains higher energy levels over longer distances compared to the .22 LR and .17 HMR.
  • Trajectory: The 5.7x28mm generally offers the flattest trajectory, making it more effective at longer ranges compared to the .22 LR and .17 HMR.
  • Ballistic Coefficient: The 5.7x28mm has a comparable or slightly better ballistic coefficient compared to the .22 LR and .17 HMR, aiding in its superior long-range performance.

In essence, the 5.7x28mm outperforms both the .22 LR and .17 HMR in terms of velocity, energy retention, and trajectory, making it a more effective choice for long-distance shooting. The .17 HMR, while better than the .22 LR in many aspects, still doesn’t match the ballistic performance of the 5.7x28mm.
