Hey all!

I’m looking for a cross draw holster for a s&w shield . I’m basically a slimer shorter version of Jeremy (6’2″, 175 lbs) and have a shorter torso and longer arms and legs so if it works for Jeremy cross draw might work for me. I practice Brazilian JuiJitu 2 hours a day 5 days a week for self defence, competition and because there is not much else to do in my town. I mention this because it’s important to me that my carry method does not inhibit my ability to grapple. I do not want to cary at a traditional 3-4 oclock as i dont wont to fall on my gun. I’ve considered apendix carry and think it brings several advantages but i simply can not get over the fact that you are muzzling your junk and some important arteries every time you holster your gun. This leaves a cross draw or a sholder rig. Since its summer a shoulder rig doesn’t make sense so that leaves cross draw. My question is a two fold, firstly as the naked wresler of the group I’d like to ask Jeremy if he thinks cro ss draw would inhibit my ability to grapple vs other carry position and if he has any holster recommendations for cross draw. Can you draw from a vehicle with cross draw that is importabt too? Secondly I’d also like to ask the group what you all think of me considering grappling while carrying a CCW? I’d like to think I’m not wasting my time in the academy every night and I feel if I can’t grapple I am eliminating a very powerful tool from my arsenal. If all you have is a hammer every problem is a nail. If Nic desides to start pooping on people in a crowded subway do you want me to just shoot him? Ok bad example but you get my point. There are simply situations where introducing a firearm is not the best option. In these situations I’d still like to be able to intervene as my training makes me well equipt to put dudes asleep, it’s not nearly as gay as it sounds. I dont want that fact that i’m prepaired for the worst kind of situation make me un prepaired for a lesser situa tion. Anyhow would love to hear your thoughts.
