We had a chance to test out the Ascendance International hand guards. They boast a product that doesn’t heat the same way as conventional AR handguards that utilizes their nTHERM technology. It seemed to work as advertised as visitors fired round after round and the handguard was still comfortable to hold. Now obviously, the area around the gas block and gas tube heated up differently than the rest and became uncomfortable to touch, but the heat didn’t radiate into the rest of the handguard and even after consecutive magazine dumps, the handguard was comfortable to touch on the sides and bottom.
