Say you live in a terrible state like NY. Suppressors and SBRs, off the table. Over 10 rounds, illegal. If you defend your house with a firearm just assume you are going to be at least detained and you will never see that gun again. I know the logical thing would be to just leave, and that is in the works, but I want to talk home defense while I’m here.
Back in the bachelor days I would not have cared about legal ramifications. Load up with 308, and so long as I missed the dog and the TV, overpenetration, and hearing, be damned. If I needed to be the example that made it to the Supreme Court, good.
Now, with the wife and kid, things are different in my mind. No longer am I willing to be the first one to have to defend myself from my own tax payer dollars if I use something deemed assault. If I take the primary home defense of any magazine fed semi auto off the table. There are a few routes I could go.
I could use a completely NY compliant AR which would include a pinned mag. Honestly, may be the best choice still, but angers me to think about. Could switch over to shotgun, semi or pump, I know a lot of people that would or have gone that route. What has the most interest from me is when the FK Bruno came out and people were calling it an “Offensive Pistol”. Something never designed to daily conceal. I have a Sig X-Ten I am thinking of taking that way. Dot/light/night sights nothing is off the table until I’ve tried it. And I know there is 320 hate in this group, but feel free to replace it with whatever brand 5+ inch barreled 10mm or 5.7 or whatever caliber you want.
I look forward to hearing from you guys and hopefully it is not just to bash my existence.

Hi y’all. How long do I have to appendix carry with tritium sights before I can have unprotected sex without creating tiny humans?

So. I have a diamond back AR-10. It was a good deal and I needed an AR10. THE PROBLEM, it doesn’t like eating steel case ammo. Any recommendations on how to make the gun like taking steel?
P.s. It’ll shoot 3 to 5 before stopping and it leaves dents in the case, with some light primer strikes.

Who or what is the female voice that says “Hey!” in the background in many of your shows?
So, for the longest time, I thought it was just one of the cast members’ wife/”partner.” Then, last night I heard it 3 times in one show. Now, I’m leaning towards the conclusion that it is one of your cell phones’ notification sound. For reference, the show where I heard it 3 times was WLS 504. On google podcast the timestamps were: 23:22, 37:18 and 1:12:03. Just to be clear, I am not complaining about it. It doesn’t bother me, just wondering what the source is.

This question is for Jeremy. I know he grew up on a farm and dresses the part and wears the boots and such. I was wondering if he still rides horses and if he does what kind does he ride since he is a large human being? I am 6’1 and 240lbs, I ride a 16.5 hand American Standard Breed gaited horse. I like the gaited horses because they ride better and it’s easier to drink beer while riding. I do have a Quarter horse but she sucks trying to run down the road and drink. Also would you prefer riding a mule compared to a horse? I hunt with a few guys that squirrel hunt and hog hunt off their miles and like them better than horses. Do you have to use draft horses or do you like normal size horses where you can take your feet out of the stirrups and just stand up? What size saddle do you use? Split reigns or single? I like using my horse to ride back into my deer hunting property because the deer don’t seem to be spooked by the horse coming down the trail with me on the back of it. Do you use a rifle scabbard or just sling the rifle over your back?

1 PRS 22 I have decided I want a good prs22 no rimx or voodoo. I have shot 1 match with a borrowed tikka t1x and I hated the magazine removal it was a pain “on the clock “ in a chassis . I have narrowed it down to a cz457 ( precision chassis if I can find one or an at one if I cant) or a bergarra b14r that will end up in a solus chassis ( that will play to Shawn’s question) what are your guy’s thoughts?
For Shawn’s question what’s up with unloaded and following up with that is aero still a sponsor or are they on the naughty list?

Over the years I’ve heard conflicting information about using magnifiers on prism sights; they work, they don’t work, ect.
I’m planning on a 10.5 ” build on a PSA Jakl for a get-home/backpack gun. I want to put a swampfox raider on it, with a magnifier if possible. The purpose is to increase the range of target identification.
In a worst-case scenario without a vehicle I’d have to go through a larger Montana city located in the southwest of the state then an additional 10 miles through more rural land to get to where I need to be.
Is this a good option if it works or should I get a 3x prism sight and keep it simple?
