I have an AR-10 lower I’m looking to build.

All my shots will be less than 1,000 yards.

Is there really any benefit to choosing 6.5 Creedmoor over .308, other than the opportunity to be a caliber hipster and pay more per round with the 6.5?

This question is not for Shawn or Savage. I know Shawn’s answer and savage is a poor. Just kidding but seriously. What’s your opinion on the p938? I’m a fan of pocket carry and cocked and locked is not a concern. I’m especially interested in Jeremy and Nicks opinion since they have a lot of pistols in and out of their stores.

Thanks!

Thank you for the responses to my question regarding a sling set up for my 870. I have a follow-up question and rebuttal for Jeremy. I am using a cheap vickers style sling currently. It mounts on the front pic rail which is out a ways from the receiver. There is no real way, unless you suggest one, to mount it closer to the receiver (remember this is a pump shotgun). What I’m really trying to accomplish is getting the barrel end up a little higher. I have tried to just reposition the center point of the sling over my shoulder but the gun just settles back down. Maybe there just isn’t a good option IDK. I’m considering a Magpul MS4 sling but do not want to spend $60 on a sling that is not going to solve my problem. Thoughts?

For Jeremy walking with the gun in your hands while hunting is so 20th century. In 2019 we non-FUDDs like to keep our hands free. If I’m running the dogs I need my hands for my Garmin Alpha to see where the dogs are and still need to be able to snap up if the rabbit comes by or bird flushes. If I’m just walking to and from my hunting spot I need my hands free to get up the hills, moving branches out of the way, catch myself from falling and doing all the other things that you use your hands for while hiking. But if I kick a deer or something I want to be able to draw quick and get a good shot off. When I wrote my last email I was in the woods waiting for the sun to come up while Turkey hunting. I carry my decoys in my pack. After the first couple of hours, I get up and start stalking birds based on where they are Gobbling. I’m not expecting to kick any birds until I get close to the sounds but you never know. I like to have the gun ready but not in my hands. With so many new accessory options out there, there is no reason to hold your gun all the time just to maintain readiness. Same concept as when we carried our AR’s crossbody in the service.

Gentlemen – I need a recommendation for woods carry, but there a few parameters to take into consideration:

1) First and worst, I’m in the gulag of the People’s Republic of Massachusetts where we have severe restrictions on what pistols we peasants are ALLOWED to purchase.

2) I hike/bike in the backcountry of southern New England (CT, MA, NH, VT) so I’m primarily concerned about black bears and not grizzlies or hogs.

2) It needs to be a weapon I can easily carry on me, probably in a Maxpedition-syle tear-open pouch. I also prefer semi-auto > revolvers.

3) The possible candidates I currently have are Glocks 19 & 27 (purchased before I moved to MA), and an M&P 45c.

4) It is possible to buy off-roster weapons on the secondary market.

Here are my actual questions:

Should I get a Glock 21 or 30 on the secondary market that I could convert to 45 super or 10mm?

OR is a weapon I already own good enough if I use specialty ammo like Xtreme Penetrator or Buffalo Bore hard cast flat nose? (I’d use those in a G21/30 as well.)

OR is there another option that would fit these parameters I’m not considering?

Thanks for your expertise, and sorry for the long question.

Can I have Aaron’s new suppressor before he breaks it?

Got change for a $20?

Where am I?

When will this question be answered?

I would like to build a WLS inspired upper. I’d like this upper to be a short barreled upper in 5.56. What parts am I ordering guys?

Every movie on the table, which movie character is each cast member like? For example Shawn is most like the guy in Pulp fiction the is locked up in the basement. #SSB

I know you can’t take a SBR across state lines without ATF approval, but what if you switch out the up with one that has a 16″ barrel? Would it still be an SBR and need approval?

Thanks!
