This Question is more for Jeremy but I know you guys are experts on all things firearms and ballistics. My question is, Is 45 Long colt more powerful than the 44 special and what distance is would I be able to get out of them and which has better penetration, I’m thinking about getting a Cimarron 1872 Open Top Navy Revolver 45 LC 5.5″ barrel just to be nostalgic. Thank you guys

Hello We Like Shooting Gang,
I live in the state of Florida…or, with the way our laws are currently going, the state formerly known as the Gunshine state. But let me digress, before I go off on a Savage like tirade for an hour talking only about my state.
I’m a Biology Professor at a college in Florida. As a quick aside, some day I need to sit down with Jeremy and Shawn and explain that there is a difference between biological sex and gender. But there I go getting off topic again. Apparently Aaron is rubbing off on me…he must think I’m a Patreon’s wife.
Finally to the actual question, as part of my benefits package my college will pay up to $1100 per year for me to take classes, which don’t need to be related to the subject I teach. The one caveat is that it must be from a certified institution.
I would love to take MAG40 or RangeMaster training, since they are amazing and in Florida, but as far as I can tell they’re not a certified institution.
While I would prefer a handgun training course, as an alternative I looked into SDI. SDI is certified and my college approved my taking a course with them. However, including tuition and resource fee, the AR-15 advanced armorer course would be $600 more than what my college would be willing to pay. I’m sure SDI’s great but if I were going to spend $600 of my own money I would prefer to use that to take handgun training courses.
I even considered attending one of the police academies run by the local community colleges, not to become an LEO but rather to get the training. However, they unfortunately are full time programs, which will not work with my teaching schedule.
So my question to you is, can you think of an accredited institution (college level, but it can include a distance learning college such as SDI) where I could get handgun training (preferably in the state of Florida)?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions…and in closing #Lil_Back
Huh, I seem to have left Nick out of this….Ummm….There now Nick’s covered

Have you guys noticed that Shawn always says “I love it” after someone is done talking about something? That should be the new drinking game phrase.

Dear WLS this question is for all of you but I would like Jeremy to read it I hear he is a fan of E E Cummings we talk about concealed carry firearms all the time and the accessories that go with them for example holsters magcarriers and belts hashtagblackrhinoconcealment hashtagbluealphagear hashtageneomag hashtagfindrickshat but my question is about clothing specifically what type of shirt to wear while carrying appendix you could be walking down the street and everything is fine one minute but then suddenly a gust of wind hits you straight on and you’re left completely printing are there companies that make civilian non tacticool style clothing for the EDCer ps congratulations on the range Jeremy

2nd call defense question and yes i know you are not a lawyer and you dont give legal advise
1st question. I live in Arizona right on the California border. I carry concealed. Say i was to accidentally enter ca carrying concealed. I was pulled over. Which i have been and the cops dont like it but its a small shit hole town so they unload it and give it back. Say they wanted to charge me with something would scd cover that your aware of.
2nd question. I had some dbag neighbors move in 1st damn day they where moving in there damn dog attacked and little ankle bitter dog from another neighbor. But my question is if im walking my kid of my dogs down the road and this dog comes at me. Im going to put it down but would scd help on that. And it would be dischargeing a firearm in residential area. Any thoughts and thanks for the podcasts not just wls I listen to a bunch of firearms radio network podcasts. The reloading podcast is the shit.
Cheap Ass
I have decided that I have to get myself a 50 cal, but I have a problem. I don’t have that Herrin money. What is the absolute cheapest 50 I can get that won’t blow up when I shoot it?
Follow up question, it even possible For a gun company to make one with an Msrp for under $500?

I’m wanting a new rifle. It will be a deer rifle and long range paper puncher (the furthest shot I can take on the farm is about 500 yards). I need help deciding between a 308 and a 6.5 Creedmoor. I would like something with a shorter barrel for mobility. I’d like to keep it all around $800. What rifle and scope suggestions u guys have? #doubleuelesizlyf
