Why do people hate grip safeties? I hear a lot of talk about grip safeties and most people list the 1911 and how it was never meant to have one I believe and if that is their reasoning I would think we have improved a lot of manufacturing techniques since then. Is there more recent reasons behind this?
Also Nick Lynch 10/10 would listen to again. Aaron Creegman, 9/10, very funny. Lets #MAG (10/10) and make Aaron Great.

Hey guys relatively new listener and Patreon supporter, and I had a couple questions. You may have covered some of this already, but I am still working through the backlog of shows in addition to trying to keep up with the new episodes.
Being new to shooting, I am not sure the best next step after I decide on my pistol purchase. I took a basic pistol and CCW class so I could get my CCW to avoid the new waiting periods in Florida. I also took advantage of a local range’s shooting package where I could shoot every rental pistol though the selection was pretty limited.
I guess at this point I am wondering once I pick up whatever I go with, currently leaning towards the Shield 2.0 in the 4.25 barrel length, do I just go shooting or am I better off paying for private instructions early on? I don’t want to develop bad habits when shooting I will have to unlearn later, but looking around the Brandon/Tampa area it looks like the local training options are pretty limited at least as far as focusing on the basics and accuracy. The basic pistol class I did take didn’t really do any one on one other than to make sure you could hit the target at maybe 5 yards.
On a less serious note, an eccentric distant relative you never knew you had passed away and left you 100 pistols. Only It turns out he primarily focused on one firearm and you have 80 of this same pistol in the various configurations. What is your dream and nightmare scenario?
Thanks guys, love the show.

I asked this in a thread in the patreon page and Shawn seemed to have strong feeling on the subject.
Paddle mag release vs button mag release?
In both rifle and pistol platforms.
Pros/cons of both.
And paddle release is the only way. Buttons suck.
