Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): This
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): episode of Double Tap is brought to you by Foxtrot Mike, Gideon Optics, Midwest Industries, Medical Gear Outfitters, Rost Martin.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Welcome to Double Tap episode 483. I was actually, when Jeremy just said Rost Martin and didn't insult me, I
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): was shocked
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): and surprised.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I was like,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): no, I'm not going to do it. If you'll notice, I didn't say and.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I did notice.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, and I was like, no, let's see how long he stews in this.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Fucking got him.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): We
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): got the three amigos, Nick Lynch, Bus Bill Systems, Jeremy Paz, Derek from Rivers Edge Tactical. Valley City, Ohio is where you can find that. My name is Shawn Herrin. I'm happy to be here with you. I'm happy to be here with the live audience. I'm happy to be here with all of you watching or listening after the fact. I'm just happy to fucking be here, guys. I'm excited. Nick's pumped.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Woo.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Jeremy's pumped. So pumped.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Okay.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): For those listening, he did glance up at his monitor and then he immediately glanced back down. In Jeremy's culture, that is a sign of respect.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): That's a win.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Fucking cat got your tongue tonight, Jeremy.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): don't know what you want me to say.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Say yes. In my culture, that is indeed a sign of
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): respect.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): This is like, he'll literally read the teleprompter verbatim. What do you want me to say?
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay, I'll fucking type it in.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay, I'll put it in the private chat. The
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): whole
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): world
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): is on fire.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I'll be like, Jeremy, what's on your mind today? Go look at the private chat and just read what I put.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Shawn is a thought. That's not what I fucking
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): typed.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Are you sure?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): That's what it looked like. I just glanced.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): In your culture, that's a great sign of respect. Let's fucking go.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): What is my cult? Rural Midwesterners?
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yes. I don't know. Some kind of weird Amazon death by snooze shit is what I imagine.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): You
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): know what I mean?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I'd fight those bitches.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): yeah. We could take them.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): There was, I don't know if this was actually AI generated, but there was a video going around of like some professional women's UFC fighter fighting just some rando from a local,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): not
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): dojo, but like a gym, BJJ gym. And just fucking like a dude who's like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): pretty
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): much, you know, been doing it for like a year and he just destroys this professional woman. And I was like, God damn.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Somebody was like. Do you think you could beat Ronda Rousey? And I was like, yes, yes, I do. I think I could beat the shit out of Ronda Rousey.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): 100% believe I could beat the shit out of Ronda Rousey.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't think I could. I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): don't think I could
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): either.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I think it's a size thing.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I think she's bigger
Nick (reference, not reviewed): than me.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I do think Jeremy could beat her up.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): And also she knows how to fight.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, I think it's a size thing and Jeremy would be hurt,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): but
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I think he would ultimately win. Now me,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): mean, is she immune to stabbings?
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Jeremy might stand a chance.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Although,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): didn't she lose a lot?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): think so.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): To
Nick (reference, not reviewed): be fair, though, somebody who loses a bunch of professional matches is still
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): leagues
Nick (reference, not reviewed): ahead of me.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Exactly.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): 100%. And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): same. But at the same time, there's a big disparity in the strength and combat abilities between men and women in general. We've seen it. We know it. Everyone knows it. If you don't know it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): You're
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): fooling yourself and no one else. Let's go ahead and talk about Foxtrot Mike.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I was just reading through the live chat for you guys who are listening after the fact. And it says, Rimfire Radio says early tonight. American Crossfire says, is everything okay? I didn't know that was a possibility. Rimfire Radio, I believe we have witnessed a Christmas miracle.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): What
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): the fuck early says outlaw.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Anyway, Renfire Radio on this week's episode of We Punch Women. You know, get on a fucking level, bro.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't know what to tell you. Foxtrot Mike, by the way,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): is a... Equality, bitches.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Right.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): We Punch Women anyway,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): our sponsor.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Listen, y'all fought for equality, and now you're mad that you got it. I don't know what to tell you.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): But if you are afraid of a man in your life, you can go buy a Foxtrot Mike rifle to really level that playing field. No, I'm just kidding. But yeah, Foxtrot Mike does make a lot of firearms. They make awesome firearms. I went out and shot my ISU-9 again, and it's just absolute pleasure. I freaking love this thing. So it's a Foldy Boy, Mike 9 lower, and the ISU-9, which is the...
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Integral suppressor. 9mm upper that goes for under $500. You can get the whole package under $1,000. Which,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): now
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): that suppressors can just be transferred on a 4473, Nick also has his ISU-9 there.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): his Foldy. Oh, you even have the same grip that I do?
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Different optic, though.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yep. I have a Mediator 2, and Nick has a Mediator XL.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. But
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): yeah, I just absolutely love this gun. I know Nick shot it. He's probably going to talk about it in the next show. But if you are looking for a gun that was made for just the everyday dude, that's not going to break the bank, but has a ton of innovation built in on a platform that's been around for a very long time and a lot of people said was already perfect. Now I kind of think that they are. So please go check them out. FM-products.com. If you see something that you can't live without, maybe the Ranch Rifle. Just use coupon code WLS's life. And yeah, lots of great stuff coming out. They got the RMB. For
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): 556 now, which is the recoil mitigating buffer. And I think you can get the whole package for under $100 if you need the buffer tube and like $70. If you don't, just really, really awesome. And I hope you'll go check them out. I know we've been having a blast with them. And again, fm-products.com.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Say
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): again?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Sorry.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Sorry. Not too big a blast, though. They are suppressed.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): even though it's a smaller tube, they really suppress well.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. It's not.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Like
Nick (reference, not reviewed): it's not the quietest thing in the world,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): but
Nick (reference, not reviewed): it's also like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): very
Nick (reference, not reviewed): pleasant.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, because
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): it's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): hearing safe.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): What they give up in tube diameter, they make up for in tube volume,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): think.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): have shot mine quite a bit actually without a hearing pro, which I don't normally do, but it is just kind of pleasant. I really like it. So again,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Foxtrot,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Mike.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Well, I've almost exclusively been shooting subs. But I'm not sure if supers will actually go super
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): in
Nick (reference, not reviewed): these.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): that's a good question. And easy to test.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Actually, yeah. I have some chronograph data that I can pull and we can talk about that in the next show.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay, cool. Yeah, we'll do that for definite. fm-products.com. This is the section of the show called Dear WLS. It's where you guys send in your questions. can do that two ways by going to welikeshooting.com slash dashboard. Click on Dear WLS or you can text your name and your question to 743-500-2171. Again, that's 743-500-2171.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): think
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): one
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): of these days in the gunfights tiebreaker, it needs to be like, what's the number to text for Dear WLS or reviews? And then whoever gets it right the fastest.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Wins
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a punch in the nuts. This week's victims,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Nick,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't you take the one from Carl?
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Okay.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Carl with a K says, I'm working on putting a few AR pattern uppers together, and I'm wondering if there's any standardization in barrel nuts.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): One
Nick (reference, not reviewed): handguard had a nut that used one of the parts of my AR armorer's wrench. Another needed a 1 3 16th inch wrench.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Which
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I had to buy, since I don't have one with a hole for a torque wrench.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Nick (reference, not reviewed): the Geisele nut needed a proprietary Geisele wrench that they didn't bother including with the handguard, and I had to buy separately.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): am so sorry. I can't read,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): apparently. Does
Nick (reference, not reviewed): everyone do their own thing, or did I just buy the dum-dums that wanted to be different?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Keep up the great
Nick (reference, not reviewed): podcast. Blame Canada.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): There is standardization. It's called a delta ring. Anything beyond that is proprietary.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Well, there's a standard GI barrel nut. It exists. Not everyone uses it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That's
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): the delta ring.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): No,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): the
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Delta Ring
Nick (reference, not reviewed): is a thing
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that goes onto the barrel nut.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Magpul
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): MOE handguard.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): What?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): The
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Delta Ring is the thing that holds the MOE handguard on.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): holds also the A2
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): and M4 handguard on.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): That is part of the standard military barrel nut. You take the spring part off and you can use that barrel nut for the knight's armaments.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Agreed.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): But it's commonly referred
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): to as a Delta Ring.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yes,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): but there's also a standard GI barrel nut that exists, and it's actually common, and a lot of handguards build off of that. Like Geissele specifically doesn't. You can buy the wrench for their barrel nut, but it's a separate purchase and doesn't come with it. Midwest Industries, our buddies over there, some of their stuff uses a standard GI nut, and some of it uses proprietary systems, but they do come with a wrench for all the ones that I've had. And it's just kind of all over the place, really. And ultimately, at some point, you will have a bag or
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a drawer full of all these different handguard wrenches. And I agree with you, dude. It's very frustrating and annoying.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Like, just put flats on it, my guy, so I can put West Virginia Knucklebuster on there.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): what I'm talking about, yeah. It's really frustrating.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): It's gotten better. It did used to be a lot worse. A lot of companies these days, it seems like, try to at least be compatible with the M4
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): wrench or
Nick (reference, not reviewed): the wrench for the M4 barrel nut.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): But there's still a lot of them.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): got the multi-tool barrel nut, castle nut. It's got like... Four different things on it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): As long as it's like the AR armors tool, just make it fit one part of that. I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): did have
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): somebody's barrel nut actually fits the castle nut part of it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I was like, oh, that's kind of cool. That
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): is nice.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I've seen that before, too. Yeah.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I was like, all right, okay, well, that's at least something standard. But, I mean, even UTG
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): will
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): send with every one of their fucking handguards that has a proprietary barrel nut system, you get. The tool. Every time. And the fact that Geissele can't fucking do that.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Geissele
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): can suck my left nut.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): And look, if you want to send like, you know, a disposable two or three use wrench. Yeah. Along with it and then sell a better one. Totally fine with that. Totally makes sense. Totally cool. But
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Midwest.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Midwest sends one. Yes,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): they
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): do.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): And it's actually Midwest might be the one that's compatible or that uses the. Oh, the castle nut
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): wrench.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): But
Nick (reference, not reviewed): yeah, they send a barrel nut wrench, which is really cool, even though you don't have to use it. You can use like I have the Magpul armors wrench and I always use those.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. So
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I have like a stack of the Midwest ones still in the Ziploc bag that I have
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): lovingly
Nick (reference, not reviewed): stashed away,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): even though I really
Nick (reference, not reviewed): should just like, I don't know, throw them away or something. But
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): have a I have a like one of those like. Parts bin shelves in the back. And one of the big blue ones is just full of like 30 different kinds of them. And some of them have been machined and modified to fit other people's. I took a, I had an old, I think it was a Wheeler brand AR tool. And
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): broke the one part of it off. It was really thin, mainly because I was hitting it with a fucking hammer.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Which we do sometimes because
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that shit gets stuck.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, like if you have a barrel nut that is like, and you're like lifting a 300-pound table up off the ground and it's still not doing, if I could throw that bitch on there and start smacking it with a hammer, the shock of the fucking hammer works wonders. Trust me, it works. You're not going to fuck anything up. And if you fuck the barrel nut up, so what? You're going to end up cutting it off anyways. Which I've done before. It's not fun. 100
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): % have done that. great.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): You're like, get the fucking saw.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): What?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Get me that fucking, you know, give me the cutoff wheel.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I'm
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): cutting this bitch off.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): You
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): fucking heard me.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I'm done playing.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I actually
Nick (reference, not reviewed): am really fond of cutting things off with a cutoff wheel when they're threaded on too tight or the threads are stuck. People get real uncomfortable with that. I'm like, hey, let's just fucking cut it off.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. It's me. Oh, I love it. I love it when you do the cut and it's like 80% of the way through and you put the tool
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): on
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): there and
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): just fucking pop
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): it and it goes
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): and
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): it fucking breaks and you're like, yeah, bitch, I'm the master of the universe.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, the best.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): So I broke this thing, hitting it with a fucking hammer. Believe it or not, that's proper. And
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): so
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): we couldn't use the one part of it, but it still works for other things. But it's like the one we go to now when it needs to have the shit beat out of it with a hammer, right? Already broke. Fuck it. But then some people's fucking muzzle devices, you know, you have two fucking standard
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): like
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): squares cut out in those tools. That'll fit like A2 bird cages and other things. But then some people want to design their muzzle
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): devices
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): so that the fucking.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): The flats are about as wide as a fucking pube. God,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): that
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): pisses me off. Oh, it makes me
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): so fucking mad.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): The P90, I think, had something like that because I know our buddy Will. Yeah, but
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that's
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): at least not like a standardized muzzle device. I can understand why they fucking did that. You need like a 14 millimeter thin wrench.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): The thin,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): yeah. So he bought like the normal one and then in the shop literally fucking ground that shit down with the cut down
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): wheel. And we machined
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): a couple of those.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): And
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): so
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): we literally put the AR tool in my fucking Bridgeport. And we just literally like machined a fucking square thinner in that. So it's like, okay, if you get one of these bullshit ones, it's too fucking thin. We machined this fucking bar so it'll fit on the cup. We're like, fuck this piece of shit. I think it was a Surefire. I think it's really bad for that.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): dude, I literally have a gallon Ziploc baggie of suppressor wrenches and a gallon Ziploc baggie of handguard wrenches. And every time I have to go in them, it infuriates me because I didn't label any. So it's just like, OK, well, I guess we're trying everything until something fits.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): even sometimes I can't find one that fits and I have to like fucking order one or borrow one or never mind. I don't actually borrow. I just
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): order.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): The one that really pisses me off is I think it's. Maybe Surefire
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that
Nick (reference, not reviewed): has an open tine, like three or four prong flash hider. And there are no flats on it. And you have to get a tool that goes inside of it and then grabs on between the tines.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): It's got like the three triangles or four triangles.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. with the three seashells?
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): God,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): God,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): that irritates me so much.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): And I'm always like worried that I'm going to bend the tines or something if I like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): slip
Nick (reference, not reviewed): and put too much pressure on it or something.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yep. Oh, God. Yeah. So, Carl, you're not the only one, man. It's a common, common
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): annoyance.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): It's honestly the same way with holsters until you find one that you like. You know, people are like, well, what holster should I get? I'm like, I wish I could fucking tell you, bud, but because everybody's body's different and everybody's clothes are different and everybody carries a different gun. I'm like, just start buying a fucker so you find one you like and then never buy another one. I'm like, and it might be different for different guns, but like. I'm like, I got a box in my office with like, you know, 25 holsters in it and some I hate and some I like and some are okay and
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): some I wear with this one or this one or this one.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh, yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): It's a
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): fucking. I'm like,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): it's a fucking clusterfuck just
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): left and right. I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): need to go through. I've got like one, a tub that's, you know, maybe three feet by two feet, literally just full overflowing to the brim with holsters that I probably don't want and don't need. I need to go through them, figure out what they're for, label them. And then give them away to friends and listeners.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Anyway,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Jeremy, next question.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): wait. Didn't you just read that one? No, Nick did. yeah, go ahead. Question
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): from
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Mike Hawk.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): know what you were trying to do, and I stopped it.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): What?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I approve. Yeah. Working on a 9mm PCC build, leaning towards matte 9K with a Scorpion mag lower, looking for a 9mm can for it, but also want to be able to use it on a few other kinds. Any recommendations for a can that will go well on a PCC, but also can run on a handgun and ideally work on my 20-inch 6.5 Creedmoor? Full auto rated for the 9mm is a must since I went to Magnum. I know Tom's got great cans and the Wardog K9 and Vers9S look great, but I'm not sure how they would do for my other uses.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a pretty fucking broad
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): usage. was going say,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I literally have a 9K with a Scorpio mag lower from New Frontier sitting at my shop. I will sell it to you. Secondly, those are like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): two
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): very different cans.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Very, very,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): very
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): fucking different.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Okay. In theory, the Hybrid 46 will work for all of that, but it's a fucking turd of a can.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. So
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I also got to say something. And I track it kind of closely because it's important.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Like,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I don't know if I would recommend buying a Matt 9 right now. Like,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): love those guys. I just don't know that right now is the best time. Because I feel like I see stuff on Reddit and just across the internet and it isn't positive lately. And I know that they're working on it. I know they're trying. But at the same time, like,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): we
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): got to keep it real. And,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): you
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): know, maybe Jeremy's got one of the good ones. You've had it for a while, right?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, but I never shot it.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. So, mean, if you've had it for a while, maybe, and I know they're working on it, and I promise someday I will change
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): this opinion. My
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): buddy bought one of them. Yeah. And the problem he's been having is that black plastic piece in the back of the
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): upper
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): keeps cracking.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Well, they did
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): replace those.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): he's broken two. He's got to get a replacement for the second time it broke. But what we found was with the Scorpion mags, it does not run anything but the Magpul mags.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): will not run CZ Mags or what's the other one? Well, we had CZ Mags. Wouldn't work. Ran fine with Magpoles.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Interesting.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Other than that cracked plastic piece, the problem isn't the Mat 9 itself. It's the ejector in the New Frontier
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): lower. There's
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): no good way to keep it from...
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): When
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): you have two screws that just pinch your ejector, That's a bad design. Agreed. never hold well.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Right. I constantly had to tighten that one on the new Frontier Lower that I got separately.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): So we're going to,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): what
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): we're actually going to do is we're going to drill holes that are just smaller than the set screws. Yeah. And essentially red Loctite, those motherfuckers, so they do not vibrate out. But it's actually going to go mostly through. The ejector and hold it there. We just have to get there yet. Yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Get those like tapered pins that'll go into that hole and just hold it. Yeah. That would be a lot smarter. Now, Nick, know you track this stuff too. And maybe tell me I'm wrong. I want you to tell me I'm wrong.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I don't. Unfortunately, I don't think you are.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): love those guys. I really hope that they get things figured out. I think they're just going through some stuff right now. And
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): hopefully
Nick (reference, not reviewed): they get it sorted.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. They got completely fucked by a couple suppliers.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): mean, it's been a big run of bad luck for years now. And like real. Like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): it's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): all real. Like I know it. I've seen it. I slept at their house. Like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): they
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): are my friends and I love them. I just, I can't
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): in
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): good conscience say that it's a good idea right now personally. And I know it'll change in the future. And when it changes, I will eat those words and I will eat them with gusto. And I will recommend.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I know it'll get there. It's just not there right now. I wouldn't recommend it. If you really want one, get one. I'm just, you know, trying to keep it real as painful as that is sometimes.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): just got to.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Now,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): let's get back to the actual question, which is, what can will work on a 9mm PCC handgun and a 20-inch 6.5 Creedmoor?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I have a Verse 375. From Bowers. And that would work on your 6.5 Creedmoor as well as on your PCC.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It
Nick (reference, not reviewed): would be very quiet. I've run mine on
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): a
Nick (reference, not reviewed): couple of different 9mm.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Like
Nick (reference, not reviewed): my MP5 and my Mat9. And I've also shot it on 6Arc, 6Dash, or 308. 6.5 Creedmoor. Basically, what Tom says is that if it'll fit through the bore, then it will
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): work. I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): don't know about, well,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): it'd
Nick (reference, not reviewed): probably be fine for a 9mm mag dump, right?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. You can hammer
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): on those with
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): PCCs.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): You just can't do it with rifles. Yeah, it wouldn't be mag dumping like a short 5.56 or anything with it.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, it just requires you to keep it below 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): That's not going to work on a pistol. It's a very big can.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I don't know if there are any boosters that will work with it.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I would say you need two cans. You need a pistol suppressor that you can also run on a PCC. So my two favorites are the Rugged Obsidian for that or the Griffin Revolution 45. They also make a 9 mil, but there's no point in buying a 9 mil. Just get a 45, and then you can at least run everything.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): The other option is, and then you get a rifle can that does 6.5.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): then it depends on if you want flow through, if you want the ultimate in suppression, if you want inexpensive, if you're going to direct thread and leave it on there.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): What's 6
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): .5 Creedmoor average velocity?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): It's
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): like 2,800,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I think, right?
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I think about there.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, it sounds right.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): The
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Verse 9 and Verse 9S, they're basically good under
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): 2
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): ,200 feet per second, so I don't think those would work. But Verse 375, that's a great option.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): The
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): only option that he has for all three of them is a Hybrid 46, and he's not going to be happy with it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): For
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): all three of them? I thought he just said 6.5 Creedmoor and 9mm.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Well, pistol, PCC, and a rifle.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Right, right.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): that's three separate use cases. A pistol suppressor is not a submachine gun suppressor. It's not a precision rifle suppressor, right? But you can put a pistol suppressor on a PCC. It's not optimal, but it will work.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): In the question, he doesn't
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): mention a pistol can. He just mentions
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a pistol caliber carbine.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): He literally did.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): can also run on a
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): handgun.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): My bad.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I'm corrected.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Motherfucker.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah, you're right.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Is
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): he gaslighting me? the fuck is he doing?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): No, I just didn't see it. crazy? Yeah,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): really, you can put a pistol can on a PCC. You cannot put a submachine gun can on a pistol, right? So you're buying a pistol can to also run on a PCC. Yeah. Right? But then to then put that on a rifle, you are stuck with one of those multi-caliber bullshit cans, and they all suck.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): They're turkeys. They're trying to do too many things at once. Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): So it's. Yeah. So get get suppressors that are made for the thing you're doing on your six, five. Get a really big one because who gives a shit? You're not clearing rooms that it's made for shooting things way over there. And it's probably on a bag or a bipod. Like unless you need maneuverability with it, like get the biggest motherfucker you can to be as quiet as possible. And there's like.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): A hundred of those out there.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yup.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay. Let's see. Question.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Where
Nick (reference, not reviewed): are you seeing the velocity limit
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): for the... Verse
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): 9?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): No,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): not the verse 375. said verse 9 and 9S. Verse 9S.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Oh, I gotcha. Okay.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): No, verse 375
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): and the Dreadnought have no upper velocity
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): limit.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): If it
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): fits the ships. I was going to say,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I'm pretty sure he told me I could shoot whatever would fit through it.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, I know.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I rock a 370, verse 375 on my 22, 250.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Oh, you can do it on a fucking 338 Lapua Magnum. You could do a 300 Win Mag.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah, he has a,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): oh, what is it? 300 Rum listed on there? Yeah. That's a pretty fast. It's a big cartridge. Yeah, it is.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Let's see. Next question comes to us from I am a moose coward.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I'm
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a moose coward. What did the cast think of DCC Parade of Horribles? I think the next book should be very interesting. What's your take? That's from Matt Deniman's Dungeon Crawler Carl series. If you haven't listened to it, you should. P.S. I'm actually reading the paper books right now, and I'm 65% done with the first book, and it's just so fucking great. I thought I was going to hate it, Jeremy, just because I had listened to all the rest of them.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): But, dude. Even just reading it, it's so fucking entertaining. In fact, I may even like it more.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): New achievement.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. And remember,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): kill, kill, kill.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): maybe it's good that I listened to him first because now I've got all the voices in my head. So when I'm reading, I just hear it in those voices. It's just so fucking good. Jeremy, Nick, what'd you think of Parade of Horribles? The newest eighth book from Matt Deniman in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. Crash.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't believe you.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): No, it was really good. Excited for the next one.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, I enjoyed it. It's just going to be three years before another book comes out. I know. I'm still waiting on Monster Hunter National. know. Ten or whatever.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): When
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): you saw Larry, were you like, bro?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): No, because he says shit about that. He's like, quit bugging me about it all the time.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): George R.R.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Martin.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Although it was funny, he did write one. Like his fantasy series. And when he finished like the six or seven or eight book novel, I believe the, what's the opposite of a forward? It was at the end of the book. it was like,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): that's how you,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): the prologue. was like, that's how you finish a novel.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Damn. I love that dude. Fuck
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): you. I've just been so much in the DCC series that like, it's been hard to read anything else.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Like
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I literally have a fucking stack of books on my side table by the bed that I need to read. I just everything pales by comparison.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Dooley gave me a book to read and I'm like two thirds of the way through it. And I don't know how I feel about it yet.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Really? It
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): did not grab. It does not grab me like Monster Hunter or Dungeon Crawler Carl has. Yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I'm listening to the audio book for He Who Fights With Monsters.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I fucking hated it. I am not in
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): it. He's
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): such a... Dude, I made it halfway through the second book and I just couldn't anymore. I was like this whiny little neckbeard.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Fucking little Asian
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): cunt bitch.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Oh, just fuck.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): And he
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): literally is a Reddit neckbeard. Yeah, 100%. And you're just like, fuck
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): this.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, I was just like, I'm done. American Paladin was pretty good. I liked it. Yeah, I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): have it.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, I mean, you and me both bought the Kickstarter.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yep,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I have it. just haven't read it yet. I'm
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): telling you. I'm
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): still in Dungeon
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Crawler Car
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): World. Dooley told me to read this book called Athenaeum Incorporated or something like that. It's like a
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): spy
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): agency something, something, you know, and it's just like a dude who works there. Pretty good. I haven't gotten to anything super thrilling. He's just setting up the story for the first two-thirds of the book. Oh, shit, dude. And nothing's happened. Except he fucked an employee with his girlfriend.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Huh. Okay, Dooley.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): see your game there, buddy. Anyway, I also liked a lot Parade of Horribles. I'm excited to read it. I'm going to be honest. I should probably listen to it again because I just have so much going on lately that I probably wasn't in the right mindset to listen to it because I don't even remember how it ended and I only finished it like three weeks ago. So I'm going to read it again
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): in
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a couple months when I get
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): there.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Which
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): book?
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Eight of DCC. Parade of Horribles.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I liked it.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I enjoyed it.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yes.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It was good. Yeah,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I was re-listening to that while I went to sleep because I like to listen to books that I've already listened to when I go to bed
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): because
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): then I don't care if I fall asleep before the timer's over and the noise keeps my tinnitus at bay.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): should do that, but then I would just be wide awake listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): That's why I only listen to books I've already read before.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Right.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): If I read a book that... You know, if I read a book that I've already read beforehand,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): then
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): it's like I pay attention to it a lot less. Or like I can listen to Monster Hunter International books because I've read that series over like three or four times now. Like all of them. Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Okay. Hey, fuck you, Outlaw. Shut the fuck up.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): This week's episode of We Like Reading is brought to you by, says Outlaw. And, you know, excellent transition.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Talking about Nick's.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Gideon
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Optics Mediator XL had me thinking that I shot mine a bit over the weekend. And I got to say, I fucking love this thing. So it's got a multi-reticle system, two different reticles. One is a 3 MOA red dot and the other is a 6 MOA circle dot. And I've been using the circle dot a lot. I think that it's... But I may switch to the just dot just to kind of see. Shot it in a class a bit and just absolutely
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): love this optic.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): One
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): of my favorites. Just it looks great. It seems so far to be just fucking undestroyable. What are your thoughts about the
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Mediator
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): XL, Nick?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It
Nick (reference, not reviewed): is a big old chunk. It is. huge optic.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): got a giant window.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It
Nick (reference, not reviewed): is hefty.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): really like it. It's got the circle dot reticle. Yeah,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I honestly love it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Like
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I said, it's a big old chunk and it's great.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): totally agree. Just absolutely one of my favorites. I was looking up.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): these on their website are $379.99. You save 11% by using coupon code WLS is life.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): But
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): yeah, they're just freaking fantastic. The kill flash off the front of mine, I haven't noticed any issues with not having it on there at all. Now, generally, maybe with a piece of glass this big, it's a pretty good idea. But I feel like it limits light input on the other side. And sometimes when I'm shooting at dawn or dusk, it makes it a little bit difficult to kind of see through the kill flash on everything that uses them, not just this. So I took it off, but I don't know. I might put it back on. just really haven't decided. I was shooting in
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): the bright sun over the weekend and zero problems seeing through it whatsoever.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): then obviously, you know, I've got the Mediator XL on my Foxtrot mic. Just very happy with the Gideon optics. So if you're looking for a pistol red dot, if you're looking for an LPVO, if you're looking for a long range scope, if you're looking for enclosed emitters,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): if
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): you're looking for something that'll fit on that brand new Glock, The ORS craziness
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): they have out there. They have it all. They've got the Valor Mini for the Glocks. They've just got everything you possibly need, including the mounts that you need. And it's all available. GideonOptics.com. Coupon code WLS is life. We'll keep the money in your pocket and put the optic on your gun.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay, Jeremy, next question.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Question from the guy next door. Good evening, gentlemen. I'm looking to update my current carry gun from a Taurus G2C to something biased
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): on the
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Glock platform that is optic cut and under $400. What I'm looking at is PSA Dagger, Daria Arms DY9, Ruger RXM, or a Canik Meat
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): SF
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): 4.19. What would your suggestions be? Thanks. Five stars. My suggestions, quit being a fucking poor.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): No,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): it's okay to be a poor. Just try to not be a poor. But until you get there.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Being
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): a poor is a mentality.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. All right. So
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): here's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): my thoughts on this.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): The PSA dagger.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Here's my thoughts. I'm going to buy something that theoretically I'm buying to protect the most precious thing in the world to me, which is the life of myself and my loved ones. And I'm going to skimp out on it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): You
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): know, not everyone has the money. He already has a gun. So he has. Time to save up to get something better.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): It's okay
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): to
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): not have a bunch of money floating around. We've all been there in our lives. Maybe not Jeremy, but the rest of us have.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I've
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): never been poor, but still,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): don't know. I guess I'm a low-time preference, okay with saving and taking time to get somewhere.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, and I'm not against what you're saying, but I'm just saying that the fact is, like,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I've
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): been poor. I get it. I totally understand. It's not an ideal situation. And if you need something, you need something. And maybe you just don't like the Taurus G2C because Taurus is cunts. Maybe that's why. Maybe that's why you want to get a new one. I get it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): to actually answer your question,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): the
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): PSA dagger historically has been a pretty fun gun. It really put a lot of guns into the hands of people out there. And, you know. Anything that brings firearms of any style back into more common use is a wonderful thing.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): have several PSA daggers.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't really like any of them, and I've had problems with lots of them.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I know that's just my experience personally. I think I have five or six of them,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): and they
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): haven't been out of the safe in like two years. They're just
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): okay. And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): sometimes you get a good one, sometimes you get a bad one.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): The
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Duria Arms.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't know.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Nick,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): you've shot those at events and stuff.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): think so.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): they're just like... Yeah. I mean, it is a
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Glock
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): -ish handgun.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It's a Glock
Nick (reference, not reviewed): -off.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Eh. Fine. If that's what you want and that's what you can afford. The Kanek Mete is not really a Glock platform. Or not even close to being a Glock platform. The Ruger RXM is a very interesting option that you put into this list, in my opinion. Because I think it meets all of Jeremy's requirements, which is, you know, being pretty reliable. It is based on Glock Gen 3 pattern parts. It does have
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a removable fire control unit, so you can replace the grips if you decide later in the future that you want a bigger or smaller one.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): You
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): can put different slides on them if in the future you decide you want a bigger or smaller one. And it's just a
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): really... It's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a...
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): How
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): do you say this? It's like...
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't know the best way to put this, but it's like a chick who's not really the hottest but has amazing tits.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): You
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): know what I mean?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): don't.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): a weird comparison. Get the RXM.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): The
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): RXM is also a good one, but also... I might like to add on there to check out the Ross Martin RM1C. It's the
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): same size
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): as these, and you can get it for right around $400, too. And it is... Dude, okay, the Ruger RXM is like the most boring, awesome handgun that I think is out there right now. There is nothing special about it, but the sum of all of its parts equal a pretty great handgun. I really like mine. I've shot a ton of rounds through mine. It's just like a pretty decent gun,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): but
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): almost
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): gag every time I say it's a decent gun. I don't know what it is. It's just like,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): it's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): really unexciting.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): because it's a Glock copy.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, but it is the best out of those choices. The Ross Martin, on the other hand, not this one specifically. This is the full size, but if you're looking for something that's more concealed carry, like, man, there is something kind of special about these. I just love the way that they feel. They're made in Texas. Durya Arms, made in Turkey. Ruger, made in the U.S., Canik. Those, the FSF4, are going to be made overseas as well. So, yeah, on that list, I would put the Rost
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Martin RM1C as well as the Ruger RXM. Nick, any further thoughts on that?
Nick (reference, not reviewed): No. From his list, out of those, I would easily go with the RXM if I was determined to buy a Glock-based pistol. Or style pistol. That's what I would get. I also think that the RM1C is a good option if he will move away from the Glock thing.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): respect Kanik a little bit more than I did. But I don't know much of their lineup still confusing me. So I don't know which one that is or if it's
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): very
Nick (reference, not reviewed): good. I have a PSA. Micro dagger or dagger micro frame
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I bought. was like 40 bucks complete,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): you
Nick (reference, not reviewed): know, with all the guts in it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And so
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I bought one because, you know, why not try it out? And it works. It's fine. But it feels like the cheapest plastic ever. It's like it feels like a Happy Meal toy or something.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): And then the Daria, I just don't. Don't.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I'll tell you this. Right now, the entire industry is fucking hurting. So go to your local gun shop. Look at used guns. If no one's been there for more than a month, make the guy an
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): offer.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Anything. Make the guy an offer. I'll tell you what. Right now, I got some guns that have been sitting around for too fucking long.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I'm pretty honest with people on what I paid for the used ones. I straight up tell people, oh, I paid that much. I'm going to get this out of it. And they're like, well, okay, you know, no, I got it yesterday. You cannot buy it for $5 over what I paid for it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): But
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): if it's been there for two months and you offer me $100 over what I paid for it instead of,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): you
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): know, three, I might take it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): might be like, good, get that thing the fuck out of here. Go. Go. It's not here for my health. It ain't doing me any good sitting here. If I could go to a local, not a fucking big box store. They're not ones to wheel and deal generally. But you go to a local place that you like,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): see
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): if they got something in the used shelf that's been sitting there a little bit too fucking long. Walk in, make a fucking offer. Fucking lowball the shit out of them and be like, there's my return offer. Ball's in your court. See what they say. If you go there a lot and they really like you.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Dude,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I bullied people into buying guns. Because I've been like, you know, I had like a gun on the shelf and it had like $1,400 on it. And I know what I paid for it. I paid about $700 for it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I'm
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): pretty honest with people. I'm going to give you about half of what I can sell it for. That's it. When I buy a gun off you, if I think it's a $1,400 gun, I'm going to give you $700. If it's a $500 gun, I'm going to give you $250. If you don't like it, I don't need to buy it. It's not a good deal. I tell people it's not a great deal, but I'll pay you money right now. Absolutely. It's not a good deal, but that's where I need to be at because if it sits there for too fucking long and I got $1,400 on it, I can look at somebody and go, hey, give me $900 for that. And they go, what? And I go, give me $900
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): for it. And they, like, one-time offer, right fucking now. You want that gun? Somebody's really finger-fucking it. And I'm like, fucking $900, make it go away. And they're like, or I go, hey, you know, what price would I need to be at for you to just fucking take it right now? And the guy goes, $900. I'm still making $200. I go, good, sold. 900 plus tax. And he goes, fuck. Yeah. Out the door it goes. Fucking buy. I don't want it. I didn't buy it because I wanted it. I bought it because I wanted to make money.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): 200 bucks is better than it sitting on the shelf.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): So fucking leave.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yep.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Two things.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): also wanted to point out that most of the guns on that list are not under 400 bucks. I actually looked up prices before the show just because I was like, I don't think any of these are. The Mete is like MSRP, just a little bit over $520. The RXM, like $539. You could get them on sale in the beginning, but not so much anymore. The Duria is right at $400. And Daggers, obviously, you can find those on Dealbro for fucking almost nothing, pretty commonly.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): then the Ross Martins are about $430. Also, by the way, Ross Martins, you get 30% off on all accessories if you do decide to get one of those, like magazines. Upgraded triggers, barrels, threaded barrels by using coupon code WLS's life at their website.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Oh, hey, Shawn. Remember the thing I talked about with the cheap guns? Yeah. Like earlier in the week? Yeah. Can we talk about that on the next show? My ADHD just thought of it and I wanted to talk about it.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Let me just write it
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): down and
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I'll probably still forget. So we'll all try together. That's fine.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Remind us in the chat on the next show that Jeremy had something to talk about in gear chat.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Okay.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay. Let's. Let's wrap the rest of these up real quick. Nick, go ahead.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Okay.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Sorry, I was clicked away from the notes.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Sorry, I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): did have one more thing to say about that last one. And that's, Jeremy, you say, go find a local gun store that you like. And my God, I would love to do that so fucking much. I would love it if there was a local gun store that was somewhere between FUD and Mulan Lobby. But
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): like, that's all I've
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): got. I've got both of those fucking, and I've.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): hate it. Burned a bridge at either, both of them? No, I haven't burned any bridges. I just fucking hate them all.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I don't know. Well, not everybody's as cool as me, but there are good gun shops out there. Actually, was talking to one of my competitors messaged me on Facebook today, and we had a very long conversation about another shop.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): But we were actually talking about the politics in the state of Ohio. Because I had made a couple of posts on my Facebook page about different politicians in my state. And I was like, everybody call these motherfuckers and badger them. And he messaged me about that. But then we got off on another tangent.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): But
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): his
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): name's Tim. I really like him. He owns a place called Summit Armory.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): He's a good dude. There's a couple of gun shops around me that I like the other owners. There's some that I don't. I'm not going to talk shit.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Unless
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): they really piss me off, then I'll talk all the shit. Because I have a microphone and you don't, so you will listen to every goddamn word I have to say. Get wrecked. The wedding singer. But
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): yeah,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): there are good shops out there. So if you do have one near you that you like and you like the guys that work there, the guys that run it. There's one place where I hate the owners, but I like the people they had at the counter. So I'd go in there and talk to them. They knew who I was, but I liked the counter help. They were good people. The owners were fucking idiots, but the counter help was good people. So I go bullshit with them when I'd be nearby.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): But
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): yeah, go fucking offer them something on a used gun, especially if it's been there a while. They'll probably take it because everybody needs money right now. We're all hurting.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): All
Nick (reference, not reviewed): right.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Nick.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Question from Rusty.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): If
Nick (reference, not reviewed): a nipple-sized dick gets bigger when it's cold but doesn't work because man nipples don't do anything, would dick-sized nipples be the way to go? Unless they get bigger when they're aroused?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): guess what I'm trying to say is, what's your favorite forced reset trigger slash safety for an AK?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't know about any of them.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): don't either. I am not equipped for this question.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): So
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I got one.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I've
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): seen a few different kinds that have like a long transfer bar and like a block that rides in the rail up towards the front of the bolt.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I have a guy at my shop that literally builds AKs from scratch.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Like
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): bends receivers. We have a press for trunnions. Like he rivets them himself. Like this dude will. We buy parts kits with new barrels and he makes a receiver and builds a fucking AK from scratch. He will not touch 95% of them because they're just, he's like, they're a fucking liability.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Damn.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): He's like, these are, this is just going to get somebody fucking hurt. You're going to have a fucking out of battery like, like right goddamn now.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I was like, okay, no, no AK forced reset installs. Like if the guy who's building them is like, nah, not taking the risk, then I'm like, yeah, unless somebody comes out with a fucking trigger kit for it, like those that shall not be named. Yeah. Unless something like that exists, he's like where it's just like a take the trigger out, put this thing in and go. He goes, I'm not playing this shit. And I'm like, okay.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. I know Texas Triggers has one that the guys were talking about, but I don't know. I don't know anybody that has one.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): just literally do not know anyone that has one.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): it's tough to recommend. If I hear of any, I'll put them in a future show, but I just, yeah, I'm sorry, I don't.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): then last one, question from Denny E.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Sorry,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I accidentally paged up. Page upped.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): was listening to episode 665, Neighbor of the Beast, and you guys did a tier list on pistols, and I wanted to put my two cents in on the PDP.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): why I feel it deserves a low tier rating. Okay. I put my PDP on consignment at my local gun shop after two years of fantastic reliability. But when it comes to disassembly, the slide release pins are pressed in at the factory so tight that the Walther forums are full of photos of broken frames. And Walther suggests sending frames into them because so many people have broken frames trying to swap triggers and other internals. To me, if I can't fully disassemble and repair or clean my gun, I don't want it. Is this something the cast can agree with? Absolutely.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Shawn Herrin's opinion. Absolutely. Like, I don't want shit that's complicated because complexity leads to annoyance.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): don't know how I feel about this. Because on one hand, installing all of that shit, avoid your warranty. So, like, they're not responsible for it. So, they're under no obligation to make a gun that you can work on
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): aftermarket
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): just to fuck with their shit. And then probably complain to them when it doesn't work.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Now, I agree with you on that. Like, if you're changing some shit and you break your frame, like, well, I guess go fuck yourself because.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): guess you should have been fucking better at
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): it.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): You made that choice. You deal with the repercussions of that choice.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): But
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): at the same time, like, I don't want a gun that I can't
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): do
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): stuff with.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): You
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): know what mean?
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): What about you, Nick?
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. I want to be able to take my gun apart.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): That can fuck right off.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): just, yeah, I don't like it. If it can't be worked on, I don't want it or need it. If I can't replace a part myself, I don't want it or need it. If I'm going to pop the pins out and the frame has a chance of breaking, nah, man, get fucked. I'm out on that. And I'm sure that there's examples that I'm not thinking of
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): people will be
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): like, but you have
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): this.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): In theory, like they're not made to come out. Like that's the point.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): You
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): don't
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): want them to come out because if they come out easily, then they fall out. Right.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I think I looked this one up, too. They even say in their manual that the detailed disassembly isn't necessary for the average shooter, should be done by a qualified gunsmith, and field stripping doesn't require driving out those pins. However, I don't want it, and I agree with your choice. I would totally get rid of mine, too, if that was the case.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay, well, that is going to do it for this episode of Dear WLS. Again, if you want to send in your question, you can text your name and question to 743-500-2171. We give away a prize pack every week to one lucky winner. And this week it is for Carl F. for his handguard barrel nut question. So go check them out. MidwestIndustriesInc.com. Coupon code WLSIsLife. And now it's time for Gun Industry News.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Rimfire Radio said Midwest also has the sweet stocks for the Rossi Brawler.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Let
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): me look that
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): up. Oh,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Lever action.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Product type, gun type lever action. Accessories for Taurus and Rossi.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): which one is it? Brawler?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): don't know. It's the like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): the
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Brawlers. It's the single shot.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Oh, the single
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): shot.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Like
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): pistol-ish.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh, this is the
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): stock and arm brace thing.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): didn't know
Nick (reference, not reviewed): they had that
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): before. Oh,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): this is the Bounty Hunter series. And yeah, they've got them for Taurus Judge, Bounty Hunter, sorry, the Rossi Brawler, Raging Hunter.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Let
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): me see.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): They've
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): got them for the
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Kiap or Rhino.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): They
Nick (reference, not reviewed): make those in 300 Blackout.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I've thought that they would be a really fun suppressor host.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): have that one on my 454 Kasul Taurus and it is so much fun.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): really absolutely love it. So yeah, sorry. The Chiappa Rhino, the Colt Anaconda.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): They've
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): got the Chiappa Small and Large, Colt Python, Magnum Research BFR, Rossi Brawler, Ruger Blackhawk, Ruger GP100, Ruger Super Blackhawk,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Super
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Redhawk, Smith & Wesson LKG frames, Smith & Wesson N frame. Smith & Wesson, in-frame.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): How's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): that one different? In-frame's talking about round butt and square butt. X-frame, Taurus Judge, Taurus Raging Hunter, Taurus Raging
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Thompson
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Center Contender G2,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): and
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Thompson Center Encore.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): They
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): have so many of them.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Anyway, go check those out. I talked about Beretta and their 500th anniversary recently. They released their 1526 Parallelo side-by-side shotgun to celebrate that. And man, I got to share this with you guys because it's utterly beautiful.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Share
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): screen. This one right here.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Let
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): me censor me harder, harder daddy extension. So,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): okay, there we go.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Look
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): how nice that is.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh, it's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): gorgeous. Yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Beautiful wood. Beautiful freaking.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): looks chromed.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Would
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): you say that's chromed, Nick?
Nick (reference, not reviewed): If it's one of those, it's probably nickel.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Shiny nickel?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. Yeah,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): polished nickel. Chrome actually doesn't get used that much on firearms.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Just
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): chroma in barrels.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. People
Nick (reference, not reviewed): refer to
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): shiny
Nick (reference, not reviewed): pistols as chrome all the time, but typically
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): nickel. I'm
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): trying to find a price and I can't, which means that I can't afford it. It's not in the article. And when I go to their website page, it doesn't have it either. So anyway, you can't afford it. Don't worry about it. Oh, damn. Sorry that that's over your face, Nick.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): okay.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): You can
Nick (reference, not reviewed): leave it there.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): No, fuck that. Gone. Moved. Get wrecked.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Oh, this is very interesting to me. This is the Uxbridge Arms G6 under barrel 12 gated. 12 gauge option.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): What
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): do think about this shit? Jeremy, look at this.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): So break
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): action.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Break action under barrel 12 gauge shotgun.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Look
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): at it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That's
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): fucking
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): cool.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): If it works, it works.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): putting that on now. Is that an AOW? that how that works?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Well, it
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): was a short barrel shotgun beforehand. Yeah. No, it's not an AOW because it looks like a gun. was considered a...
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): was considered a short barrel shotgun because once attached to the rifle, then you had a stock with that barrel.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): you would have had to get an SBS
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): tack
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): stamp
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): to
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): have like a master key attachment.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, that's right.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): An AOW doesn't have to be a...
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I'm
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): aware
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): of that. It's any other
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): weapon. It's whatever doesn't fit into the other
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): categories.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): But
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): this
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): would not fall into that. Well, actually, it being a shotgun and smoothbore and not
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): being shoulder
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): fired, it may have fallen into an AOW as a standalone. But if attached to a rifle or to an underbarrel, then it became a short pearl shotgun.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): so I think it's pretty cool. $6.99, not available now, but you can pre-order it for $200 down.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Now what
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I'd like, now what would be really cool, is do that but make it 50 BMG.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Fuck
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): that.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): This is how you
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): end up like Kentucky ballistics.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Nick (reference, not reviewed): didn't the Master Key have issues with, it was like bending receivers or something?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I don't recall that.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): There was something that it was damaging the guns in some way.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh,
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I don't recall that at all.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't either. But then again, I don't pay a whole lot of attention to that. So SIG announced their P365 Mach 3D, which adds a 3D printed compensator to the 365. Now, not made out of filament or anything like that, but it is a 3D printed, which means that it can have some interesting internal geometries that you may not be able to get with standard machining. This is definitely the way.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): The way a lot of things will be going over as the prices for 3D printed metal goes down. What do you guys think?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Looks
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): nice. it's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): awesome. It looks good. The 3D printed muzzle device thing is cool. Because like you said, you can do stuff that you couldn't do previously.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Nick (reference, not reviewed): if they're taking advantage of that and they have some sort of crazy internal geometry in there, that
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): could
Nick (reference, not reviewed): be pretty sweet.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I agree.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): it's a 365, which I carry every day anyway.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): like, I'm not afraid of it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): How
Nick (reference, not reviewed): much is it?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a great question
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I wish this article. No release date yet. They just announced it. Hold on. I'm looking. I'm looking.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): More
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): specifications.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): View
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): product. Nope. Just announced.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Zero
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): pricing.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Cool.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Cool,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): cool, cool. So, yeah. As soon as I get it, we'll find out about it. They also announced it next to their Foxtrot 2R Light Fight Weapon Light with Red Dot Integration.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): So,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): that's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a lot of words, right?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Mm-hmm.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): So, it's a 700 lumen, 20,000 candela connected by Light Fight, which is a Bluetooth link between the light and six hours new X-Ray 5 Red Dot.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): when the light is switched on, the x-ray 5 reticle brightness goes up immediately. The idea is simple. A bright beam on a target can wash out a reticle, so the dot is boosted at the same moment the light comes on and stays visible while the shooter illuminates the target.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): What
Nick (reference, not reviewed): is the difference between that and an auto-adjust
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): red
Nick (reference, not reviewed): dot?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That
Nick (reference, not reviewed): is... Or is that what this is?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): No,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): it uses Bluetooth to say when
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): it's switched
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): on.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): it does use Bluetooth. Okay. Huh.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): So I don't know what the difference is. Maybe,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): oh,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): bro, I don't know.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): mean, the light's going to be $199.99.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): that's interesting.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): You
Nick (reference, not reviewed): know, I
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): went
Nick (reference, not reviewed): shooting the other day
Nick (reference, not reviewed): and I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): remembered to
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): check
Nick (reference, not reviewed): my optics before I left and make sure that they all were good to go.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Amazing.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): And I had to charge the hollow sun in the truck on the way. To shoot.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Nick (reference, not reviewed): it pissed me off so much.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): On the thermal, the actual red dot is still functional with like a normal battery that you can easily replace. But the thermal portion you have to plug in to charge. Oh man. With a magnetic cable. And
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): so
Nick (reference, not reviewed): like I plugged it into the cigarette lighter and then snapped it onto the side of the optic. And
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): it's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): like this is the
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): dumbest
Nick (reference, not reviewed): thing ever that I'm charging an optic.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): So
Nick (reference, not reviewed): I think what I'm saying is I don't want
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Bluetooth between
Nick (reference, not reviewed): my flashlight and my red dot.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, I get it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): really do. Um. Strike Industries has...
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Jeremy,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I think you're really going to like this. They've introduced their AR Rapid Bolt Deploy Lever for Ambi Control. And I was trying to figure out, is that an acronym for something? So the RBDLAC? No. The RABIDLAC? I don't think so. Because, you know, the bad lever was Bolt Assist Device. But this is basically the bad lever. I know Jeremy loves the bad lever.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Well, Phase 5 makes a one-piece replacement that I prefer.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah. It
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): doesn't wobble. This looks like a bolt-on one. I don't like that. The Phase 5 one, just drive the pin out, drive it back on. It works much better. It doesn't wiggle.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): How
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): much is that Phase 5?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): $60.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): $50. This
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): one is $24.99.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Now,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): the reason that I wanted to show this, Is because look at this picture that they used in the marketing.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Her ghetto nail. Yeah, it's a chick's hand. She has a diamond ring on her middle finger and then a sharp ass demon nail with two stones also embedded in the nail.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Holy
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): fucking tacky, man.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): That is
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): a
Nick (reference, not reviewed): choice. Yeah. Also, like I don't have anything against these. I've used the bad levers a lot and I really like them, especially for like malfunction clearing and stuff.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): But
Nick (reference, not reviewed): this is an interesting time to be coming out with this product.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): They've only been around for 15 years.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah. Like everybody that has like once one probably has one at this point.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): You didn't like reinvent the wheel.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It's
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): a fair point.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Let's see. And then I guess this last one.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I will talk about is CZ has introduced their duty modular nine millimeter pistol. Did I talk about this last week? I don't think so.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): I don't recall. We did.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Oh, God. Page not found.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Pistols CZ duty series. Are you 18? Yes, I am.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): They
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): got a dude wearing plaid looking like a fucking weirdo.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): There's
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): so much in here.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Like what is happening?
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Nothing. All these fucking. You have so many things in the fucking segment on this page, I can't find
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): it.
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): Dude, I know. There it is. I found it. Jesus Christ. So here's what happened.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): had to recycle a bunch of stories last week, and then I forgot to go through the recycled stories this week, so I added a bunch of new stories this week, but they're still all the recycled stories from last week, so tonight I'm going to have to recycle all of them, and I'm to have to send myself a note to go through and go through all of the ones to see which ones I actually care about. So the CZ Duty looks like it's going to be about $729 MSRP for the full size to start. It has a patented modular chassis for easy grip module changes. So very similar to like the 320
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): and the RX-M and a bunch of other stuff. It has direct mounted optics ready interface, which that's good. Fits RMR, RMSE, Delta Point Pro and Holosun K. Safe disassembly without pulling the trigger. gives a shit? Extreme durability. Cool.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): think it looks nice. I don't think I want it, but like I think it looks nice and I think that
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): there
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): will be people that want it.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): What
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): do you guys think?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Nick (reference, not reviewed): am not particularly interested in it, but people seem to really like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): the...
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Can you mute that?
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Oh, shit. I thought... Hold on.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): muted my tab. It just must be playing not through my tab.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): It's muted now.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Okay.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah,
Nick (reference, not reviewed): people seem to really like the P10 series. And I imagine this will be fine too.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): muted now, right?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): do love the way a P10F feels. I really do.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, I like the P10s. Again, I never liked them enough to want one or anything, but I like them. This is the weirdest fucking product video.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): what is this?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): He's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): like screaming in an ice bath and rubbing poison oak on himself.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Running naked through the woods.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Yeah, the gun was on
Nick (reference, not reviewed): fire for a second.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Drink
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): your piss.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): That's not Kel-Tec.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): He
Nick (reference, not reviewed): was rubbing something on himself.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Is
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): this supposed to be like a
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): guy we know
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): or something?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Like,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): should
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): this
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): mean something to us?
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): This
Nick (reference, not reviewed): is a weird video.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Jeremy (reference, not reviewed): said drink your piss.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): They
Nick (reference, not reviewed): had a lot of fun with the editing, it looks like.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah, they did.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): The
Nick (reference, not reviewed): camera angles and all the stabilization. Yeah,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): I mean, it's a cool video. It's just fucking weird.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Is this like a celebrity or something that we just don't know?
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): It's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): like you guys did some really cool stuff. You just took it a little too far.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Yeah.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Well, good for them. So anyway, CZ trying to break into this market. Yeah, I don't know who this is. I feel like we should know who it is. I feel like that's the point is if you know who it is, you're like, oh, that's fucking cool.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): But
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): anyway, CZ has that. If that's the thing that you're interested in. Clearly, we're all just angry
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): tards.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): So we just don't care.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): We're all
Nick (reference, not reviewed): just so ready for it.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): We are. That's going to do it for Gun Industry News. This episode of Double Tap. A couple things real quick. Number one.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Oh,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): yeah. I just recycled 20 stories to next week. I'll definitely have to go through those. Medical Gear Outfitters is the place that you can go to get medical gear. Dustin does in the chat said, this guy loves Shawn Ryan. Outlaw said, holy shit, it's hard to watch.
Nick (reference, not reviewed): He loves Shawn Ryan. He's listening to Jocko.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): Zester says, you have to listen to Rogan to get it. Lenny says, targeted at the hipster market. Actually, dude was wearing plaid,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): running
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): naked in the fucking woods with a gas mask on or something.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): Whoa. Hey, flannel is...
Nick (reference, not reviewed): Functional. I love flannel. Don't get me wrong. And comfortable.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): It's
Nick (reference, not reviewed): hipster though.
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): It's hipster. I don't know what to tell you, man.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): I
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): don't know what to tell you. So anyway, Medical Gear Outfitter is the place that you can get all this stuff. So now if you've been playing along and you've gotten everything to treat
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): bleeding,
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): airway, respiration, and exposure,
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): then
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): it's time to find the other things. Things that you need in addition to that. For example, boo-boo kit. It's a little kit that costs about $10. It's got like aspirin and sting pads and
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): like
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): literally all the stuff that you need for the little boo-boos that you get throughout the week. $10, you can add those very easily to your order of a trauma kit. Like the civilian medical trauma kit, their best seller ever. And yeah, you should have medical gear always.
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): And
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): again, it's not just trauma stuff. You can go
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): buy
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): just regular first aid supplies. Everything that you would need to take care of any injury. They've got their mom kit, which, you know, if your wife has kids or if you're listening to this and you're a woman, I know there's at least six of you. You know, and you want to throw something in the car that's just like
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): handles
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): the stuff that moms deal with. It's a great option. So go to medicalgearoutfitters.com. Use coupon code WLSISLIFE and
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): get
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): the stuff that will save lives and improve. Small injuries and big injuries and all that. think it's obviously Skinny Medic. That's his family. They run this and started a long time ago. So obviously very close to all of our hearts. Over there, medicalgearoutfitters.com. Let's see. Join Gunners of America. Gunowners.org slash WLS. Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): That
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): it was actually really cool. And honestly, I think it was a leftist person that was talking about how they used it, but just talked about when they called it that someone answered and said, how can I help you? And
Unknown speaker (unknown, not reviewed): the
Shawn (reference, not reviewed): dude just kind of broke down a little bit and told him what was going on. And it was just nice to have somebody to listen. So very cool. 988 from your phone if you need it. Always choose dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery. We'll see you next time. Goodbye.
